Information About the Project

Following the severe earthquakes that occurred in the Marmara Region on 17th August and 12th November 1999, the Government of Turkey with the assistance of the European Investment Bank (EIB) has identified an emergency reconstruction program in the affected areas. This is entitled the Turkey Infrastructure and Urban Reconstruction Project (TERRA-1) which includes the provision of a new Izmit SSK Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital and Outpatient Clinic.

Izmit, Ministry of Health, Maternity & Pediatrics Hospital consists of 200 beds and approximately the hospital has an area of 29450 m2 and central polyclinic has an area of 8375 m2.

The total construction area is approximately 37.825 m2.

PROKON provided the following services under the scope of this project:

  • Preparation of Design and Tender Documents: 
    • Preliminary Design and Medical Equipment Draft List and Room Settlement Plans Preparation.
    • Construction and Detail Drawings and Contractor Contract Documents Preparation 
    • Preparation of Technical Specifications and purchase Tender Documents of Medical Equipment, Medical Equipment Final List and Room Equipment Settlement Plans.
    • Preparation of Final Furniture List, Room Settlement Plan, Technical Specification and Purchase Tender Documents of Furnitures.
    • Evaluation of Civil and Medical Equipment Contractor Contract
    • Evaluation of Contractor Tenders and Signing of the Contract (Furniture)
